How much space do you need?

Longer is better, but even a shorter lane is useful for batting against throw-downs and working on technique. Width should allow a full swing of the bat, and height should clear lofted shots before the roof net catches them.

Why a roof net matters

On a terrace, the danger is the ball that goes up and over. A roof net tied off along every edge is essential, together with side and back nets.

Netting and supports

UV-treated HDPE or nylon netting handles sun and rain. Supports can be a GI pipe frame anchored into the slab or tensioned steel wire ropes between existing structures.

Wind and weather

Pre-monsoon storms are the biggest test. Every support should be anchored into the slab and the netting tied off so it cannot billow free.

Approvals
