An open, unbroken view
Ropes a couple of millimetres thick, nothing welded across the middle — you look at the skyline, not at bars.
Our main service · Bangalore
Invisible grills in Bangalore are now the first choice for apartment balconies and windows, and Anwitha Invisible Grills installs them in every part of the city. We fit SS 316 marine-grade stainless-steel cables, tensioned one by one in aluminium channels fixed into the concrete, so your children, pets and parents are protected while the balcony still looks and feels open.
Overview
A Bangalore flat on the tenth floor and a 1990s independent house in Basavanagudi have the same weak point: an opening that a child can climb towards. For years the answer was a welded MS grill — heavy, dark, painted every few years and impossible to see past. Invisible grills close the same opening with thin stainless-steel wire ropes set two inches apart, so the protection is real but the view, the light and the breeze stay.
Because there is no frame across the middle, they also suit the way the city builds now — glass railings, wide sliding doors and balconies that are meant to be lived on. Associations in most gated communities accept them because the building elevation does not change.
Benefits
Ropes a couple of millimetres thick, nothing welded across the middle — you look at the skyline, not at bars.
A 2-inch gap between ropes stops toddlers slipping through, and vertical ropes give nothing to climb.
Marine-grade 316 stainless with a nylon coat handles Bangalore's two rainy seasons and lake-side damp.
Close-set ropes across the whole opening keep pigeons and other birds out of the balcony completely — no droppings, no nests.
No welding, no primer, no repainting every few years. A wipe with a damp cloth is all the care it needs.
Our workmanship promise. Three things decide whether an invisible grill is still tight and clean in five years: the steel grade, what the anchors are drilled into, and whether every rope was tensioned on its own. We put all three in writing in your quote.
The product
An invisible grill is a set of stainless-steel wire ropes stretched across a balcony, window or open void and locked into aluminium channels at each end. Each rope is pulled to tension separately, and the ropes are spaced close enough that a small child or pet cannot pass between them. The ropes can run vertically (floor to ceiling) or horizontally (wall to wall), whichever suits the opening and the household.
We install SS 316 marine-grade stainless-steel wire rope with a clear nylon coating, in 2 mm, 2.5 mm or 3 mm thickness depending on the width of the opening. The ropes are spaced 2 inches apart as standard, and closer where pigeons are the main concern. Each rope sits in an anodised aluminium channel at either end, and the channels are fixed with stainless-steel anchor fasteners into the RCC slab, beam or column — never into plaster. Ropes can be laid vertically or horizontally, and each one is tensioned on its own so it can be re-tightened on a service visit.

Our work
Why Anwitha
Every opening is measured at your home. The quote is built on real numbers, not a guess from a photo.
Rope grade, thickness, gap and fixing method are written into the quote, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Aluminium channels and brackets are fixed into the RCC slab, beam or solid wall — never into plaster that can crack away.
No welding or grinding. We cover the floor, work tidily and clear up before we leave.
Exact price after a free measurement
Invisible grills are priced per square foot of the opening. The rate moves with the rope thickness, the gap you choose and how the channels can be fixed at your balcony. We measure on site and hand you a written quote with every one of those items listed — the visit costs nothing and you are under no obligation.
What decides the priceHow it works
Send a photo of the balcony or window and your location. We confirm a visit time.
We measure every opening, check what the anchors will go into and discuss vertical or horizontal ropes.
You get the rope grade, gap, fixing method and price in writing. No hidden extras.
Channels anchored, each rope tensioned and the gap checked along the full width before handover.
FAQs
Yes. Each SS 316 rope is tensioned separately and its channel is anchored into the concrete, so the load of someone leaning or pushing goes into the building structure. The 2-inch gap is chosen so a small child cannot squeeze through.
Invisible grills are priced per square foot of the opening; the rate depends on rope thickness, spacing and fixing conditions. We measure your balcony for free and give you a written quote before any work starts.
Not with SS 316. Marine-grade stainless steel with a nylon coating is made for wet, humid air. Cheaper SS 304 or unbranded wire is what develops brown spots after a couple of seasons.
For balconies used by young children we recommend vertical ropes, because there is nothing to put a foot on. Horizontal ropes are popular on windows and on openings out of a child's reach. Both use the same rope and spacing.
A typical apartment balcony is finished in a few hours, and most flats are done in a single day. There is no welding, so there are no sparks, fumes or grinder dust inside your home.
Yes. The whole system can be taken down if you move — only the small fixing holes of the aluminium channels are left to fill.
